Substitute Receptionist

Goodman Community Center is seeking a Substitute Receptionist. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for many visitors to the Goodman Community Center and plays a key role in ensuring a welcoming, safe and fun environment for everyone at the Center. This Receptionist also helps the Facilities & Operations team make sure that the facility is running smoothly and is secure at the close of the day.

Shifts that may require coverage:
Monday-Friday, 6am-11 am, 11am-3pm, 4pm-Close
Saturday 8:15am-4:15pm & 4:00-Close
Sunday 8:15am-1pm, 12:30-6pm

Program Cook

Goodman Community Center is seeking a part-time Program Cook. This position is responsible for the production of meals for the childcare, youth and senior programs, including assisting in meeting the goals and expectations of the Summer Meal program. This role will also teach, guide and mentor teens from the Seed to Table Education and TEENWorks programs.

Substitute Teacher – Preschool

The early childhood education program at Goodman Community Center is a place for young children 3-5 years of age to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging setting. Staff work as a team to guide the development of the children as they learn in an environment of discovery and play. The Substitute Teachers are expected to help 4K and classroom teachers in day to day organizing, supervising, and implementing preschool programming that supports the goals of GCC’s childcare programs.

Substitute Teacher – Elementary Afterschool

The Afterschool Program at Goodman Community Center is a place for children from all backgrounds to recreate, socialize, learn and grow.  As a 21st Century Community Learning Center, we provide academic and enrichment opportunities intentionally designed to be hands-on and connected to school day goals while helping children develop social-emotional and problem-solving skills. This program serves Kindergarten – 5th grade.

Part-time Hourly/Non-Exempt; Program hours: Monday 12:30-5:30, Tuesday-Friday 2:15-5:30

FYI Outreach Program Facilitator

The Fit Youth Initiative is a community center collaboration aimed at bettering the nutrition and health of youth in Madison through best practices in health, fitness programs and nutrition education. FYI is currently offered at four consortium partner sites: East Madison Community Center, Goodman Community Center, Kennedy Heights Community Center and the Vera Court Community Center. The FYI Program Outreach Facilitator will support our grant-required outcomes, evaluation, training, and programming through direct service and outreach leadership. This position implements program initiatives with children ages 3-18.

Dishwasher

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a dishwasher. The dishwasher will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for all dishes used for Goodman Community Center food programs ensuring a safe meal for program participants and customers.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday  9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and/or  1:30-6:30 p.m.; Saturdays 12-4 p.m. and/or 4-8 p.m. Pay is $8.50-$9 per hour.
