Khan Academy Coordinator

The Goodman Community Center is seeking an instructor to lead our Kahn Academy program, a web-based learning platform, during the summer. Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboards that empowers learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. They tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Their math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. 

Lussier LOFT is the middle and high school afterschool and summer program of the Goodman Community Center. Lussier LOFT staff work together to provide Madison youth a safe, fun and productive place to spend their out of school time.  At all times it is the responsibility of the Program Leaders to provide active supervision and engage with youth when they are on site in the Lussier LOFT, and other program areas.

Volunteer Wisconsin AmeriCorps - Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator

Spend the next year serving members of our community, recruiting and supporting volunteers in Girls Inc. of Greater Madison (GIGM). GIGM is the local affiliate, run by Goodman Community Center, of a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to create mentoring relationships with girls in a girl only environment.  Girls Inc. programming serves the whole girl by providing programming that focuses on health and wellness, academic enrichment and career exploration, and leadership and life skills development.

The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Girls Inc. Outreach Coordinator and GCC Volunteer Manager with the development and management of the Girls Inc. volunteer program. Hourly position: 35-40 hours per week. Reports to: Volunteer Manager & Girls Inc. Outreach Coordinator

Program Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a program cook to prepare meals for Goodman's childcare, youth and senior programs, including assisting in meeting the goals and expectations of the summer meal program. This role will also teach, guide and mentor teens from the Seed to Table Education and TEENworks education and employment programs. 

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center food service programs is to produce healthy meals for children, youth, parents and older adults. A secondary goal is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, culinary arts and employment training/experiences in the food industry.

All professional staff in the food programs are responsible for participating in the training, education and support of teens in Goodman's education and employment programs.

Summer Program Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a part-time summer program cook to prepare ~85 meals per day for delivery to a partner site as part of Goodman's Summer Food Service program. 

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center food service programs is to produce healthy meals for children, youth, parents and older adults. A secondary goal is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, culinary arts and employment training/experiences in the food industry.

Summer Ironworks Cafe Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a cook for our summer Ironworks Cafe. This position is responsible for the daily food production and supervision of front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center Ironworks Cafe is to teach teens about cooking and employment in the food industry while providing the highest possible food quality and customer service. All professional staff in the café, catering and food programs are responsible for participating in the training, education and support of teens in our teen education and employment programs.

Substitute Childcare Teachers

Open 

Looking for part-time or occasional hours working with great kids and staff? GCC has opportunities to for substitute teach in our preschool and afterschool programs. Must have experience with preschool or elementary age children and coursework in Early Childhood Ed or related field.

Substitute teachers may be called in advance to cover vacations, staff development trainings, meetings or other planned absences. Substitutes may also be called in on short notice to cover for staff out ill. The amount of shifts you decide to fill is entirely up to you.

Our hourly rate is $12-14/hour depending on qualifications and experience. Please submit a resume and application to Lisa Jacob.
