Can you help make a child's holiday a little brighter?

November-December, 2012
The Holiday Gift Sponsorship Program helps families of the Goodman Community Center's youth programs provide holiday gifts for their children. You, your family, organization or business can help provide gifts to more than 230 children in our preschool, afterschool, middle ad high school programs who come from low-income families.
Here's how it works
Goodman Community Center families complete gift wish lists for their children under the age of 12. Children from 12-18 will receive gift cards. Children are wishing for lots of favorite toys and clothes from Easy Bake Ovens, remote control cars, Barbies and sleds to winter coats and jeans. You may sponsor one child or a whole family.
All the young children have been assigned. If you're provide gifts for a child or a family, please bring your gifts -- unwrapped -- to the office at the Goodman Community Center, 149 Waubesa Street by Friday, December 9.
To help make sure kids young and old have a gift to open this holiday, you can also donate online.
The BIG NEED right now -- $25 Gift Cards for our teens!
We give youth from 12 to 18 who are in our programs a $25 gift card. It's not as warm and fuzzy as buying toys or clothing for a younger child, but our teens are an important part of our community and we want them to get a gift this holiday season, too. Last year, many of the teens were really touched to receive a gift because they didn't expect a thing. Other teens were so excited because they could use the gift card to buy their mom or little brother or sister a present.
Want to help us give our great teens a gift this year?
It's easy to donate online. We appreciate any amount you can give. Simply tell us it's for holiday gift cards in the notes section. Or, you're welcome to purchase and donate $25 gift cards from East Towne Mall or local discount department stores.
