"Hats Off to Our New Home" Parade and Ice Cream Social

Held on May 19, 2007

Our “Hats Off to Our New Home” parade and ice cream social was a resounding success. More than 350 people came to decorate their hats, bikes, unicycles, and scooters and be in our parade! It was quite a happy sight to behold – with Vogel Brothers’ bright red construction vehicle leading the way and Mama Digdown’s Brass Band playing equally bright music to set the pace, we marched to Wirth Court park, tipping our hats as we passed the site of the Center’s future home.

Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream sundaes were scooped up while Truly Remarkable Loon emceed a program that included a dance performance by the Center’s Lussier Teen Center’s Crushin’ All Forces, a skit by Madtown Liberty Players, and more juggling fun by Truly Remarkable himself. And of course it was all designed to kick-off the community-wide phase of our One family Campaign and everyone seems more than ready to lend their support! Isn’t that great?
