The Goodman Atwood Community Center is a good investment
Many companies understand that a strong, vital community is good for business, so the Goodman Atwood Community Center has enjoyed partnerships with Madison area businesses for many years. Companies of all sizes have been vital to helping us offer new and stronger programs such as our food pantry and meals to boost the nutrition of youth, families and seniors; our golf mentoring program that helps youth develop physical fitness and life skills; our Thanksgiving basket program that gives 1100 families the fixings for their holiday dinner, and our Girls Get Fit program that blends nutrition education with fun physical activities. It was these and other successful programs that created a nice problem — we needed more space, and better space to support our work.
And our local businesses are great neighbors — they regularly sponsor fundraisers for us; donate raffle items, flowers or food for events; and lend their support whenever asked. Now most have One Family Campaign donation boxes on their counters so their patrons can easily lend their support.
Our One Family Campaign has been endorsed by the Capital Fundraising Committee and we will be actively inviting businesses to support our campaign through the summer. We’d love to give you a tour of our future home and answer any questions you have about our work and our future plans. If you would like to learn how your business can help with a financial or in-kind donation, please contact us.

Business leaders endorse our campaign “There have been a lot of changes to the neighborhood center in the last 60 years, but none so profound as this venture, as the active, involved near east side of Madison prepares for the work of the 21st century.” “Atwood has developed a smart financial plan and a sound strategy to secure half of this ambitious $12.2 million project through non-traditional funding streams. I’m proud to be part of the team that’s distilled a very complex financial equation into an achievable goal.” “The Center's many recognized accomplishments and programs have helped stabilize and strengthen our community. I have personally had a 10 year relationship with the organization, and feel strongly about their successful programs and skilled staff. Because of their impact, Kraft has donated more than $500,000 over the last decade.” |
