Paul Raymond, owner of Home & Office Upholstery on Atwood Avenue, purchased this chair from St. Vincent DePaul’s thrift store in 2000 after first spotting it on the curb outside the former Wayhouse of Light, the home and studio of Madison artist Mona Webb., during the time that the Williamson Street building was being cleaned out after her death in 1998.
Paul didn't have room in has van at the time, and thought of it as a sign that it appeared a few days later at St. Vincent DePaul's.

Webb is well-known for her eclectic style and use of mosaics and found objects (including shells, toys and costume jewelry and mirrors) in her sculpture and painting.
