Vogel employees helping with Thankgiving Baskets program Over two days, November 24th and November 25th, 1000 families will come to the new Goodman Community Center for help providing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Community Action Coalition, United Way 211 and food pantries throughout Dane County are gearing up to collect food to support families through the winter months and specifically to provide a Thanksgiving meal.

Please donate food or money by this Friday, Nov. 21, if possible. That gives us Saturday to purchase food needed to fill in gaps, and enables us to make good use of our scheduled volunteers.

Bring donations to the Goodman Community Center Gym at 149 Waubesa St. from 9am-7pm weekdays, or 9am-3pm on Saturday.

If those hours don't work, our main reception desk is open during the week from 6am -8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30am-1:30pm.

Donate online at this website via the Paypal link towards the bottom of the page. As you review your donation, designate your gift for T-baskets in "Add special instructions for the merchant".

Feeding 1,000 families requires 1,000 of each of the items below, so every can, every box, and every turkey brings us closer to our commitment of helping so many families again this year. Cash donations for the purchase of these items and perishable items are always welcome.

• We need paper and plastic grocery bags both for the Thanksgiving Baskets and for the regular pantry.

• We have all the Jell-O and Stove Top Stuffing we need--thanks to Oscar Mayer / Kraft Foods!

Cash contributions are also needed to purchase frozen turkeys, milk, butter, eggs, potatoes, fresh sweet potatoes, celery, carrots, squash and rolls.

Food contributions are needed by Friday, November 21st.

Money Helps
We can buy food at a discount, and after you--and everyone in our community brings in tons of food, inevitably we need to add a few things here and there to balance it all out. We always need to buy turkeys, fresh vegetables, rolls, milk, and eggs.

Financial donations can be:
- mailed to the Center or brought in during our business hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on weekedays,
- brought in on Saturday, November 22 when food donations are accepted
- brought in on Sunday, November 23 between noon - 5:00 pm when volunteers begin packing the food.
