Artist Statement
“Viva Amor” celebrates the unstoppable, transformative, valuable power of love. This reveals itself through the changing weather in paintings, transmuting dark to light, rainbows overpowering storms and the process of creating — combining traditional oil painting with experimentation.
Often beginning with a painting that seems hopeless, layers of paint are added and subtracted over several years, resulting in work that transforms with the light. The process is like love; a spontaneous choice combined with intent. Love is a fearless superpower; the most valuable currency we have, a strength without bounds.
