Another wrap on Thanksgiving, and what a year it was!

Dear friends & neighbors,

Thanksgiving Basket Drive jump for joy

Another Thanksgiving Basket Drive is in the books! It was my first experience watching this incredible undertaking unfold, and I was absolutely in awe of all of the hard work our dedicated staff and volunteers put in to make this event successful.

It takes a village, and in addition to the hundreds of volunteers and thousands of community members who donated money or food, there was incredible help from local businesses, clubs, schools, churches and organizations – far too many to list them all.

I want to give a special shout-out to our Food Pantry Manager Francesca, who basically lives at Goodman the weeks leading up to basket distribution, and our Volunteer Manager Susan, who worked tirelessly to ensure every volunteer slot was filled. I also have to give a big shout-out to all of our lead volunteers, who dedicate hours and a whole lot of labor to making sure the weekend runs smoothly.

And it ran so smoothly! I could hardly believe it. People laughed and talked and, of course, packed and handed out thousands of bags of Thanksgiving groceries. There was no stress, only joy. I loved every minute of it.

THANK YOU to all of you! Whether you volunteered, donated, helped us spread the word, or were just with us in spirit, this event cannot happen without you. We’re so lucky to have you in our community.

Take care,

Letesha Nelson, CEO & Executive Director
