Honoring the legacy of the Goodman brothers and The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation

Goodman Community Center is here to stay.

Today, The Irwin A. and Robert D. Goodman Foundation announced its closure. The foundation was an independent organization that carried forward Irwin and Robert Goodman's legacy through gifts to many Madison-area organizations, and we were proud to be one of them.

The foundation has long been transparent about its plan to distribute all remaining funds and dissolve, so we have not relied on further support from them. Goodman Community Center is sustained by many other foundations, corporations, community groups, and individuals who share the Goodman brothers' belief in a healthy, interconnected community.

While this marks the end of a historic era in Madison philanthropy, we're honored to keep carrying the Goodman brothers' legacy forward — alongside the other independent organizations that bear their name or were funded by their foundation, including Goodman Pool, Goodman South Madison Library, Goodman Nonprofit Center, Goodman Sports Complex, Goodman Jewish Community Campus, and Goodman Park.
