Artist Statement
I find beauty in the discarded and the battered, and a passion to rescue and save animals.
As a graduate from the University of Wisconsin, I received degrees in art and art education. My emphasis was in paper arts — creating handmade paper from rags and plants, and teaching the art form in schools, museums and community centers.
My focus expanded in 2005, when Hurricane Katrina blew through New Orleans. With all the destruction, I directed my attention to items that were tossed to the curb, as well as fostering the displaced pets from the hurricane. All my pieces tell a story and the challenges are endless.
