Artist Statement
Rooted in my love for 19th century academic painting — with William-Adolphe Bouguereau as my primary influence — I am drawn to the beauty, clarity and religious discipline required to master classical techniques. Careful drawing, extensive modeling and the study of form and light shape every part of my process. These traditions anchor my practice as I aim to reinterpret them in a contemporary context.
Painting is the center of my life and the work to which I am most dedicated. Through each piece, I hope to honor the legacy of academic realism while reintroducing its precision and emotional depth to a modern audience. I am especially drawn to painting women in luminous, scenic settings because I find a deep personal meaning in capturing their beauty and strength — much like Bouguereau did — and I hope that reverence comes through in every piece.
