We are very thankful this morning that Goodman Community Center's buildings made it through last night's storms mostly intact, and all our programs and events will take place as scheduled today (Wednesday, 4/15.) Our playground is closed this morning due to broken glass from a smashed solar panel.
Like many of our east side neighbors, we did have considerable vehicle damage; several of our transportation vans had windows smashed by hail, and the rest had some damage. We are currently assessing how this will affect transportation for after-school programs and will contact any families affected.
The damage is difficult, but we know it could have been so much worse, so we're thankful for both our good fortune, for the forecasters who helped us make good decisions to keep our program participants safe, and for our community.
