The early years are critical. At Goodman, we take them seriously while letting kids have plenty of fun.

At the Goodman Community Center, we know how important early childhood education is in a child's life, and we're committed to providing a high-quality preschool and 4-year-old kindergarten experience for the entire family. Using a play-based approach to learning, our teachers support children as they explore the world around them through a mix of child-initiated play and intentionally designed activities.

Now enrolling scholarship students for fall 2025 preschool

Goodman Community Center reserves scholarship spots in all of our classrooms for students from families with lower incomes. We are now enrolling scholarship students for preschool for the fall 2025 year. Families may qualify for scholarships if they earn 300% of the federal poverty line or below.

About Preschool & 4K at Goodman Community Center

Our mixed-age classrooms help children develop social-emotional skills that are essential to their success throughout school and life. As nurturing relationships are fostered, children also develop skills that will help them with a smooth transition to 5-year-old kindergarten.

Goodman Center childcare programs (preschool, 4K and elementary after-school) are city accredited and state licensed. Our childcare programs have a 5-star Young Star rating – the highest rating possible.

Although our early childhood education classrooms are combined, there are distinct enrollment requirements for preschool and 4K. Please read below to learn more about our programs and how to enroll.

Preschool Program

Our preschool program is for children ages 3-5 years old. Children will have the opportunity to participate in child-initiated play and intentionally designed activities in a mixed-age classroom environment. Breakfast, lunch and snack included.

FULL-TIME

Days: Monday-Friday

Times: 8 am – 5:30 pm

PART-Time

Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Times: 8 am – 5:30 pm

Age requirements: Three years old and child must be fully toilet trained.

Fee:

4-Year-Old Kindergarten

Our 4K program offers children the opportunity to participate in child-initiated play and intentionally designed activities in a mixed-age classroom environment. Breakfast, lunch and snack included.

Days: Tuesday-Friday

Times: 8-12 pm (wraparound care available for a fee, see below).

Monday & Wraparound Care: Monday 8 am-5:30 pm, Tuesday & Friday 12-5:30 pm

Fees:

Registration: Enrollment in MMSD is required.
