|TEEnworks Culinary Educator
The Goodman Community Center’s TEENworks (Teen Education and Employment Network) is designed to support the development of job, social and educational skills, preparing teens for employment or post-secondary education.
The TEENworks Culinary Educator teaches culinary art and food preservation to high school students with barriers to success. This position also teaches culinary skills to teen participants and helps run the Goodman Preservation CSA.
- Experience in education and training youth in hands-on environment.
- Experience in urban agriculture, culinary arts, food preservation and/or entrepreneurship.
- Working knowledge of positive youth development.
- Ability to manage a team of students.
- Ability to consistently respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, even temperament, a calm and instructive demeanor.
Special Position Requirements include
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Some evening and weekend hours.

|Program Meal Cook
The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center food service programs is to produce healthy meals for children, youth, parents and older adults. A secondary goal is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, culinary arts and employment training/experiences in the food industry.
This Part-time 25 hour week position supports the execution of menus for youth and adult programs. Shift is 2pm -7pm Monday - Friday. Includes paid time off, health, dental, vision. life, EAP, 403(b) and free on-site fitness center membership. Additional hours available supporting catering and TEENworks.
|Assistant Director of Equity, Inclusion & Human Resources
The Assistant Director Equity, Inclusion & Human Resources will play a vital role in delivering Goodman Community Center’s commitment to creating and maintaining a work community that respects and values diverse life experiences. This role helps drive the implementation of programs and best practices that will attract, develop, and retain a diverse workforce and volunteer base as well as cultivate an environment of inclusion across programs at GCC.
The Assistant Director Equity, Inclusion & Human Resources is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Human Resources Department. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to on-boarding, recruitment, staff development, and adherence to HR policies and practices. The role is also responsible for helping to maintain focus on diversity and inclusion in all appropriate policies and procedures.
This role is also responsible for the Center’s capacity to engage, support and manage volunteers throughout all program areas to meet the center’s mission. |Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator
Volunteer Wisconsin AmeriCorps Service - Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator
A unique opportunity to support the goals of two national organizations and learn from the Goodman Community Center Team. AmeriCorps, often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps, places individuals within communities to give a year of their life to serving others. Spend the next year serving members of our community, recruiting and supporting volunteers for the Girls Inc. of Greater Madison (GIGM) program based at the Goodman Community Center.
Girls Inc. is a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to create mentoring relationships with girls in a girl only environment. Girls Inc. programming serves the whole girl by providing programming that focuses on health and wellness, academic enrichment and career exploration, and leadership and life skills development.
The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Girls Inc. Outreach Program Manager with the development and management of the Girls Inc. Volunteer program. The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator also works closely with the Goodman Volunteer Manager to provide general volunteer opportunities and supervision.
Hourly position: 35-40 hours per week. (Total of at least 1700 hours in service year)

Our Early Childhood Education program at Goodman Community Center (GCC) is a place for young children 3-5 years of age to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging setting. Staff work as a team to guide the development of children as they learn in an environment of discovery and play. Teachers help the 4K Teachers and other classroom teachers in organizing, supervising, and implementing early childhood education programming that supports the goals of GCC’s programming for children.

|Elementary Afterschool Teacher
Our Elementary Age Afterschool Program is a place for children from all backgrounds to play, socialize, learn and grow. Teachers assist the classroom lead in organizing, supervising, and implementing after school programming that supports the goals of GCC’s elementary program. Teach in newly renovated classrooms in a beautiful historic building, on-site gym, playground and even a Splash Pad!
Part-time 22-25 hours/week during the school year. Hours: Monday 12:15-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 1:45- 5:30 p.m. Wed 12:45-6:00 p.m. June to mid-August 40 hours/week available.
