4K Teacher (Full-time hourly)

The 4K Program at Goodman Community Center is a place for young children 3-5 years of age to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging setting. Child-initiated play as well as intentionally-designed activities are provided in our mixed age classrooms. The 4K teacher works collaboratively with their teaching team and supports the organization and implementation of 4K programming while meeting the goals of GCC in collaboration with the Metropolitan Madison School District. This position would begin late August for planning for the start of the school year.

High School Girls Inc. Outreach Facilitator (Full-time hourly, 30 hours/week)

Girls Inc. is a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to build mentoring relationships with girls within a pro-girl environment. The High School Girls Inc.Outreach Facilitator will be responsible for building mentoring relationships with East High School girls, encouraging them to be “Strong, Smart and Bold.”  Overall duties: Facilitate daily programming for High School girls during in school lunch programming and during after school programming, promote Girls Inc. presence in East High School, and ensure that a high quality program is maintained.

Preschool Teacher – Float (Full-time Hourly 37.5-40 hours/week)

The early childhood education program at Goodman Community Center is a place for young children 3-5 years of age to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging setting. Staff work as a team to guide the development of the children as they learn in an environment of discovery and play. The Floater teachers are expected to help 4K and classroom teachers in organizing, supervising, and implementing preschool programming that supports the goals of GCC’s childcare programs. We have an immediate need and an additional opening in the fall of 2018.

Driver for Food Resources (Part-time, 6-19 hours per week)

This position supports the execution of Working Class Catering delivering offsite contracted meals and picking up catering supplies. Our catering team hosts meals on site at the Goodman Community Center buildings, offsite at various venues around Dane County, and a daily week-day program meal service to select Madison locations.

Qualified candidates must have a valid Wisconsin Driver’s license, good driving record & ability to lift 60 pounds from ground into back of delivery vehicle.

AmeriCorps Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator (35-40 hours/week)

Americorps Serve Wisconsin logoGirls Inc. is a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to create mentoring relationships with girls in a girl only environment. Girls Inc. programming serves the whole girl by providing programming that focuses on health and wellness, academic enrichment and career exploration, and leadership and life skills development.

The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Girls Inc. Outreach Program Manager with the development and management of the Girls Inc. Volunteer program. The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator also works closely with the Goodman Volunteer Manager to provide general volunteer opportunities and supervision.

AmeriCorps Senior Meal Lead Volunteer Coordinator (20-25 hours/week)

Americorps Serve Wisconsin logoSpend the next year serving members of our community, recruiting and supporting volunteers for the Senior Meal program at the Goodman Community Center. The GCC’s Senior Meal program served over 10,500 meals to more than 300 unique individual members of our community annually. Weekly meals served average 207. During the commitment period, the member will support the senior meal program in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers serving as kitchen assistants and meal site room hosts. The member will also work closely with engaged community partners and service learning student populations. The member will act as backup support for the center’s general volunteer programs, as well as developing tools to support our staff working with and supervising volunteers.

Hours include Monday thru Friday, 10 am–2 pm with occasional flexibility for special events. Must be able and willing to serve 900 hours between September 11, 2018 – August 31, 2019. AmeriCorps Volunteer Coordinator (35-40 hours/week)

The GCC’s volunteer program engages members of our community to support the mission and programs of the Goodman Community Center. The center currently engages over 1,600 volunteers a year and in 2017 volunteers donated over 29,000 hours of service. During the commitment period, the member will support the volunteer program in recruiting and managing volunteers across all of the center’s programs, as well as developing tools to support our staff working with and supervising volunteers.
