Catering Chef (full-time & part-time)

We have full-time and part-time opportunities, hourly/non-exempt, 16-40 hours per week. Hours vary by catering calendar, though a majority of events are Thursday – Sunday.  The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center cafe and catering services is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, cooking and employment in the food industry while providing the highest possible food quality and customer service.

This position supports the execution of menus for the Working Class Catering. Our catering hosts meals on site at the Goodman Community Center buildings, offsite at various venues around Dane County, and a daily week-day program meal service to select Madison locations.

Dishwasher (Part-time)

A dishwasher is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation standards for all dishes used for Goodman Community Center food programs ensuring a safe meal for program participants and customers.

Elementary After School Lead Teacher
Limited Term Role (February - May)

A lead teacher is responsible for the supervision and management of their classroom while supporting GCC goals and outcomes. Working with the after school team the lead teacher plans and carries out daily activities, evaluates the effectiveness of the program and activities, ensure the safety and physical well-being of the children, maintains regular communication with parents, and contributes to the effective operation of the overall childcare program.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience working with a well-established state licensed and City of Madison accredited center. This role will work with our wonderful 5th grade students.

Schedule: Monday/Wednesday 11:45a-5:45p, Tuesday/Thursday 10:30a-5:45p & 1:15p-5:45p Friday

Substitute Teacher – Preschool

The early childhood education program at Goodman Community Center is a place for young children 3-5 years of age to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging setting. Staff work as a team to guide the development of the children as they learn in an environment of discovery and play. The Substitute Teachers are expected to help 4K and classroom teachers in day to day organizing, supervising, and implementing preschool programming that supports the goals of GCC’s childcare programs.

Substitute Teacher – Elementary Afterschool

The Afterschool Program at Goodman Community Center is a place for children from all backgrounds to recreate, socialize, learn and grow.  As a 21st Century Community Learning Center, we provide academic and enrichment opportunities intentionally designed to be hands-on and connected to school day goals while helping children develop social-emotional and problem-solving skills. This program serves Kindergarten – 5th grade.

Part-time Hourly/Non-Exempt; Program hours: Monday 12:30-5:30, Tuesday-Friday 2:15-5:30
