Join the Goodman Community Center (GCC) where people from all walks of life and all ages come for programs and services that make their lives — and our community — stronger.  

Our Elementary After School (EAS) program is preparing for all day summer programming and is in search of a Summer Lead Teacher to support and guide our elementary aged students with fun summer projects and activities, including visits to our very own splash pad!  Summer only and permanent opportunities available.     

Our EAS program at GCC is a place for children, 5-12 years old, to learn and grow in a safe and encouraging environment.  Staff work as a team to guide the development of the children as they learn through play and exploration. This position is expected to plan, prepare, and implement elementary age programming that support the goals of GCC’s childcare programs.   

Preference will be given to applications received by the preferred application date of 4/2/2021. Applications will be received until the position is filled. Applicants must submit a resume, and completed GCC employment application to be considered for the position. Required Qualifications:

 

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Qualified to be a Child care Teacher (a minimum of 2 courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent or 2 non-credit approved courses in early childhood).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
  • Willingness to drive a 15 passenger van with children as passengers.

 

Preferences:

  • Familiarity with State of WI Child Care Licensing Rules and Regulations and City of Madison Accreditation Guidelines.
  • Familiarity with Creative Curriculum and/or Conscious Discipline
  • Experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
