Job Description

Job Title: Van Driver  

Job Classification: Part-time 1-15 hours per week 

FLSA Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt  

Job reports to: Elementary Program Manager

Position purpose:

Safely transport children, youth and adult participants to and from the Goodman Community Center so they may engage in our programs and may attend rewarding activities with staff outside the Center. 


  • Follow all required childcare licensing and accreditation rules and procedures when transporting children ages 3-12 in a 15 passenger van. Including the use of alert alarms.
  • Obey all state and local traffic and motor vehicle laws and adhere to all GCC van user rules.
  • Report any accident immediately to your supervisor. Complete required report from glove box and GCC Incident report.
  • Report any mechanical problems or safety hazards immediately to your supervisor and the Office Manager or Director of Operations.
  • Report any moving violations immediately to Human Resources Director.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of licensed driving experience.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check.
  • Meet physical requirements of getting in and out of van and siting for up to 1 hour.


  • Experience in behavior management of children and youth.
