In hard times, its not enough to just look for the good in the world. We need to actively be the good, starting in our own community. For over seventy years, Goodman Community Center has striven to be a force for good, strengthening lives and securing futures.
How Goodman is good for our community?

Feeding our community
We welcome hundreds of families to our food pantry and provide nourishing meals for older adults, children in our programs and Meals on Wheels recipients.

Helping raise resilient children & youth
We provide high-quality childcare, after-school and summer programs for kids from preschool through middle school. Our TEENworks program offers mentorship and supportive employment opportunities for high school youth. *START Literacy Initiative addresses the literacy crisis with in-depth tutoring.

Honoring older adults
Our older adult program promotes healthy aging and creates community through educational programs, social events and weekday lunches.

Connecting the community
We provide a safe and beautiful “third space” for Madison’s east side to host significant gatherings, meetings and celebrations. We publish Eastside News, a free community newspaper, now in its 101st year.
As a community center, GCC is created by and for the community. Get involved and learn how you can be the good.
