Goodman Community Center | Ways You Can Help 2

1. Give Money

Your monetary donation lets us provide fresh foods in each basket. We purchase perishable groceries like veggies, milk, butter and eggs, and also purchase items to fill in any other gaps, including turkeys.

2. Give Food

We rely on your donations of shelf-stable groceries and frozen turkeys to fill all the baskets.

Plan your food drop-off:

Donations can be dropped off at the Goodman Community Center, during the following times:

  • Saturday–Sunday, Nov. 15-16, 12 pm–4 pm (Goodman gym)
  • Monday–Friday, Nov. 17-21, 10 am–7 pm (Goodman gym)
  • Saturday–Sunday, Nov. 22-23, 9 am–5 pm (Waubesa Street)

Need to drop off sooner? Most food can be delivered to our Ironworks building any day during the month of November, 9 am–8 pm. But please save frozen turkey donations until Nov. 15!

3. Host a Food Drive or Fundraiser

Food drives and fundraisers are a HUGE help. Could you host one at your workplace, faith community, club or neighborhood — or raise money through your online community? Please let us know you're hosting a food drive by filling out the food drive registration form.

Host a food drive

We’ve created a handy food drive kit with everything you need to let your friends, coworkers and neighbors know about this great community effort. The kit includes posters, shopping lists, sample images and more!

4. Talk Turkey!

Help us spread the word. When you talk about the Thanksgiving Basket Drive with your friends and family, you're helping us get this important work in front of new people.

We've created a kit with posters, a shopping list, photos and caption templates that will make it easy to share this story with your network.

5. Give Your Time

It takes a lot of volunteers to make Thanksgiving Baskets a success – we'd love to have you join us. Volunteers are needed for numerous tasks to ensure we can fill every basket.

Volunteer spots open in late September and fill up very quickly. If a shift is interesting but filled, add yourself to the wait list, and you'll be notified if someone cancels.
