Volunteer Wisconsin AmeriCorps - Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator

Spend the next year serving members of our community, recruiting and supporting volunteers in Girls Inc. of Greater Madison (GIGM). GIGM is the local affiliate, run by Goodman Community Center, of a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to create mentoring relationships with girls in a girl only environment.  Girls Inc. programming serves the whole girl by providing programming that focuses on health and wellness, academic enrichment and career exploration, and leadership and life skills development.

The Girls Inc. Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Girls Inc. Outreach Coordinator and GCC Volunteer Manager with the development and management of the Girls Inc. volunteer program. Hourly position: 35-40 hours per week. Reports to: Volunteer Manager & Girls Inc. PASS AmeriCorps Summer Program Leader

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a summer AmeriCorps member to participate in the Partners for Afterschool Success program. PASS AmeriCorps members will support our extended learning summer programming through engaging mini-courses and community service. Members may design new program initiatives with a very diverse youth population. This placement will work primarily with our middle school program — which may include fitness components, music and performance art and STEM programming in our beautiful facilities. We will work with your strengths and our needs to create a mutually beneficial position to best serve our community.

LOFT staff work together to provide Madison youth a safe, fun and productive place to spend their out-of-school time. Culturally and linguistically diverse applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Girls Inc. Outreach Facilitator

The Goodman Community Center is seeking an outreach facilitator for its Girls Inc. of Greater Madison project. The Girls Inc. Outreach Facilitator will be responsible in assisting with the expansion of Girls Inc. programming to elementary, middle and/or high school students.

The Girls Inc. Outreach Facilitator will implement, monitor, and grow gender specific programs for youth who attend Goodman’s partner schools; Lowell Elementary School, Emerson Elementary School, O’Keeffe Middle School, White Horse Middle School, and East High School. The facilitator will work closely with the Girls Inc. of Greater Madison Outreach Coordinator to assure quality programming while maintaining the elements of the Girls Inc. experience.

Girls Inc. is a national organization that utilizes research-based curricula and interactive activities to build mentoring relationships with girls within a pro-girl environment. All programs should be guided by the Girls Inc. commitment to quality and the core essential services of the Girls Inc. experience.

Program Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a program cook to prepare meals for Goodman's childcare, youth and senior programs, including assisting in meeting the goals and expectations of the summer meal program. This role will also teach, guide and mentor teens from the Seed to Table Education and TEENworks education and employment programs. 

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center food service programs is to produce healthy meals for children, youth, parents and older adults. A secondary goal is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, culinary arts and employment training/experiences in the food industry.

All professional staff in the food programs are responsible for participating in the training, education and support of teens in Goodman's education and employment programs.

Summer Program Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a part-time summer program cook to prepare ~85 meals per day for delivery to a partner site as part of Goodman's Summer Food Service program. 

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center food service programs is to produce healthy meals for children, youth, parents and older adults. A secondary goal is to teach teens about locally sourced foods, culinary arts and employment training/experiences in the food industry.

Summer Ironworks Cafe Cook

The Goodman Community Center is seeking a cook for our summer Ironworks Cafe. This position is responsible for the daily food production and supervision of front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

The primary mission of the Goodman Community Center Ironworks Cafe is to teach teens about cooking and employment in the food industry while providing the highest possible food quality and customer service. All professional staff in the café, catering and food programs are responsible for participating in the training, education and support of teens in our teen education and employment programs.

Substitute Childcare Teachers

Open 

Looking for part-time or occasional hours working with great kids and staff? GCC has opportunities to for substitute teach in our preschool and afterschool programs. Must have experience with preschool or elementary age children and coursework in Early Childhood Ed or related field.

Substitute teachers may be called in advance to cover vacations, staff development trainings, meetings or other planned absences. Substitutes may also be called in on short notice to cover for staff out ill. The amount of shifts you decide to fill is entirely up to you.

Our hourly rate is $12-14/hour depending on qualifications and experience. Please submit a resume and application to Lisa Jacob.
