Goodman Community Center | Corporate Giving

Corporate Engagement Opportunities

At the Goodman Community Center, our main goal is to provide corporate partners with the highest visibility possible, an opportunity to support high-quality programming benefiting children and families and an opportunity to work with one of the most trusted non-profit brands in Dane County.

“Why should a Madison-based business invest philanthropic resources in the Goodman Community Center? Quite simply, it is because GCC delivers measurable results in an accountable fashion, addressing significant social service needs in our community. I have been a staunch supporter, both personally and in my corporate role, of GCC for over 15 years and have been consistently impressed with its passionate commitment to the delivery of results.”

Event Sponsorship

The Goodman Community Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year. We'd love for your business or organization to contribute to making each event fabulous.

Thanksgiving Baskets

Each year, GCC provides Thanksgiving meals to nearly 4,000 families across Dane County. We can only achieve this because every year organizations (like yours!) pull together and contribute tremendous amounts of food, money and time to help us organize it all. Give the gift of a holiday meal to families in our community and become a Thanksgiving Basket sponsor.

Family Fun Nights

On the third Thursday of almost every month, the Goodman Community Center invites families from all over Madison to participate in themed Family Fun Nights. On a typical night, we welcome more than 100 families. Past themes have touched on literacy, fitness, making healthy decisions, and science.

Pop Up Dinners

During the winter months, Goodman Community Center teams up with local chefs to plan, prep and serve a three-course meal. The Pop Up Dinners support the Goodman Center while giving our teen employees some valuable hands-on experience working with culinary professionals.

Volunteer Summit

All Goodman volunteers are invited to attend this summit during Volunteer Appreciation Week in April. The goal of the summit is to not only show our immense appreciation for those who share their time and talents to enhance GCC programs. but to also build community, create learning opportunities and further our goals to make GCC's impact more equitable.

GCC Events

We host additional events for our community throughout the year. Sponsor one of these events, and your company will receive prominent recognition and corporate logo placement in event materials and online.

And there's more! Contact Dani Luckett if you'd like to get involved.

In-Kind Gifts

Prize Items

We are fortunate to be selected as the beneficiary of many community fundraisers, and our role in those partnerships is often to supply donated prize items for raffles and silent auctions. We also love to have fun items to give away to our dedicated staff and volunteers!

Gift & Gas Cards

Gift cards and gas cards are extremely helpful for our program participants. Family members of our children and youth programs, our food pantry recipients, and our older adults often find themselves in need of help to cover basic needs or transportation. We love when we’re able to offer gift and gas cards to help folks with immediate needs outside of our programs.

Food & Beverage

One way for Goodman to stretch its budget is too have food donations from our partners. Team meetings, family engagement activities, all-staff events and socials typically require some sort of food and beverage. Donating coffee, pastries, pizzas, sandwiches, ice cream and the like help us create wonderful experiences for our staff, volunteers, and program participants.

Drives & Collections

Food Drives

We of course need support from community food drives during Thanksgiving, but our food pantry needs help year-round! We pride ourselves in offering a great variety of healthy food options for folks who struggle with food security. Host a drive with your team or the entire office, your place of worship or even amongst friends or neighbors! Use a theme, ask for our most needed items or create meal kits! Holiday Gifts

As the holiday season approaches, gather a group to support Goodman children and families and ensure their wish lists get filled! Donate general toys that parents can choose from when they pick up their gifts or specific items that our children are hoping for this holiday season. Learn more about our Holiday Gift Program.

Back to School Supply Drive

It's difficult for many of our families to afford all the necessary back-to-school supplies and gear. Each summer we collect everything on the MMSD school supply list for each grade level, as well as backpacks. It’s such a relief for our families to know their children will have all the tools they need to be successful in school! Learn more about our Backpack and School Supply Drive.

Winter & Summer Gear

Each spring we collect swimsuits, goggles, towels, sunscreen and bug spray to ensure we have all the gear our children need in the summer. Our programs are out and about all summer long, and we don’t want any young person in our program to worry about having the necessary supplies to fit in and have fun! In the fall, we gather waterproof boots, mittens and gloves, stocking hats and snow pants to cover the clothing needs of our young people in the winter. Our kids go outside every day in the winter like true Wisconsinites. We'll provide sizing, quantity and style needs to set you up for success.

Volunteer

Volunteer needs at Goodman are both constant and ever-evolving! Our food pantry and older adult program have limited staff, and their daily operation is dependent on many consistent volunteers each week. Volunteer support enhances children and youth programs in the form of tutoring and by just having an extra caring and trusted person in the room. One-time events need help with setup and tear down at varied times of the year. And it's always helpful when companies roll up their sleeves to get dirty and help us with deep cleaning. There are seasonal opportunities to help with gardening and landscaping as well.
